TRANSACTIONS: Signed as an unrestricted free agent by St. Louis (2/28/09)…selected by Baltimore in the fourth round (124th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft (4/24/05).

PRO: Fifth-year lineman joined the Rams after the spending first four seasons of career with Baltimore…spent most of his career at left guard before starting all 16 games at center in 2008.

2008 SEASON: Started all 16 games at center, first time starting at the position in his career…was one of only two offensive linemen to start every game of the season (left guard Ben Grubbs)…blocking efforts helped the Ravens rush for 2,376 yards, fourth in the NFL and first in the AFC.  The Ravens’ 20 rushing touchdowns tied for fifth in the NFL and tied for third in the AFC…started in three postseason contests in 2008 as the Ravens advanced to the AFC Championship game…Week 9 at Cleveland (11/2):  Helped RB Ray Rice rush for a career-high 154 yards on 21 carries…Week 13 at Cincinnati (11/30): Blocking efforts helped Ravens amass 451 total yards, only 28 less than a franchise record…Week 16 at Dallas (12/20): Cleared lanes for RB/FB La’Ron McClain to gain a career-high 139 yards, including an 82-yard touchdown run that tied for the longest in team history…265 total rushing yards were a season-high for the Ravens…AFC Wild Card Playoff at Miami (1/4/09): Started at center and opened holes for the Ravens to rush for 151 yards, the second-highest postseason total in team history.

2007 SEASON: Played at left guard and was the only Baltimore lineman to start all 16 games…first time in his career he accomplished the feat…helped Baltimore complete a franchise-record 341 passes for 3,308 yards…allowed the team to rush for 1,797 yards and 11 touchdowns…vs. Pittsburgh (12/30): Helped the Ravens rush for a season-high 180 yards…protected QB Troy Smith, allowing him to record a career-high 90.2 passer rating.

2006 SEASON: Saw action in all 16 regular season games, starting 12 at left guard…part of an offensive line that allowed only 17 sacks, second-fewest  in the NFL (15, Indianapolis)…paved the way for Baltimore to rush for 1,637 yards and 11 touchdowns…started first career playoff game at left guard…vs. Cleveland (12/17): Part of an offensive line that opened holes for RB Jamal Lewis to rush for 91 yards and tie a career-high with three touchdowns…protected QB Steve McNair as he posted an 89.9 passer rating…AFC Divisional Playoff vs. Indianapolis (1/13/07): Started first career playoff game…provided protection for McNair to complete 67.7 percent of his passes to seven different receivers.

2005 SEASON: Saw action in six games as a rookie, starting one…saw majority of action on special teams…at Denver (12/11): Started first career game.

Three-year starter at center for the Tar Heels after switching from tackle before his sophomore year…started 36 consecutive games at center, earning first-team All-America honors from The NFL Draft Report as a senior…also earned first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in 2004…allowed only three sacks in his career, including none in his final two seasons.
