TRANSACTIONS: Selected by St. Louis in the first round (19th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft (4/23/05).

PRO: Started 58 of 60 career games…blocking efforts have helped RB Steven Jackson rush for 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons (2005-08) to join Eric Dickerson (1983-86) as the only Rams to have four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons...in 2006, blocked for an offense that produced a 4,000-yard passer, 1,500-yard rusher and two 1,000-yard receivers, one of only four offenses in NFL history to accomplish that feat.

2008 SEASON: Started 15 of 16 games at right tackle…part of an offensive line that allowed 45 sacks, the fewest allowed by the Rams since 2003…opened holes for RB Steven Jackson to average 118.4 scrimmage yards per game, best in the NFL…Week 7 vs. Dallas (10/19): Helped Jackson earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors as he cleared paths for Jackson to rush for 160 yards on 25 carries with three touchdowns…Week 17 at Atlanta (12/28): Part of an offensive line that opened holes for Jackson to rush for a season-high 161 yards, the second-highest rushing total of his career.

2007 SEASON: Started 16 games, 15 at left tackle…vs. San Francisco (9/16): Moved to left tackle after T Orlando Pace was injured in Week 1 vs. Carolina…first action at left tackle.

2006 SEASON: Started all 16 games at right tackle…one of only two Rams’ offensive linemen to start all 16 games…part of an offense that averaged 360.4 yards per game, ranked sixth in the NFL (fourth in the NFC).

2005 SEASON: Started 11 games at right tackle, the most by a Rams’ rookie offensive lineman since Tom Newberry started 14 at left guard in 1986…vs. Tennessee (9/25): Made NFL debut…made first-career fumble recovery…at New York Giants (10/2): Started the first game of his career.

Barron’s Games Played-Starts: (RAMS) 2005: (12/11), 2006 (16/16), 2007 (16/16), 2008 (16/15). Totals: (60/58).

Started 30 of 43 games for the Seminoles, 13 games as a senior…earned All-America first-team honors from Football Writers Association, Walter Camp, Associated Press and College Football News…started 12 games as a junior, 14 as a sophomore…redshirted as a true freshman…graduated with a social science degree.


Born Alex Benjamin Barron in Orangeburg, S.C…earned Prep Star and Football News All-America honors at Wilkinson High in Orangeburg…averaged double-double in points and rebounds in basketball.
