of Jimmy Smith (12,287) for 11th on the NFL’s all-time receiving yards list with
(12,342). • Caught five passes for 77 yards in Week 2 at San Francisco
9/17, passing Steve Largent (819) for 11th place on NFL’s all-time receptions

yards, including 46-yards touchdown reception vs. Arizona 11/20. • Made
four receptions for 94 yards at Houston 11/27, including 43-yard touchdown
reception late in the fourth quarter on fourth-and-6 play to help propel Rams’
comeback. • Caught 800th career pass at Minnesota 12/11, becoming the
14th player in NFL history with 800 career receptions.
2004
SEASON: Caught 89 passes (fifth in the NFC, eighth in the NFL) for 1,292
yards (fifth in the NFL)…fourth career 1,200-yard receiving season…led or tied
for team-lead in seven games in receptions and eight games for receiving
yards…started season with four consecutive 100-yard receiving
performances, first player to accomplish the feat since Houston’s Charley
Hennigan in 1963. • Caught seven passes for 100 yards at San Francisco
10/3…passed Gary Clark (10,856) for 13th place on the NFL’s all-time receiving
yards list. • Caught five passes for 98 yards at Miami 10/24, making him
the 13th player in NFL history with at least 11,000 career receiving
yards. • Nabbed a team-high nine catches for 170 yards and one touchdown
at Green Bay 11/29…passed Michael Irvin (750) and Charlie Joiner (750) for 14th

SEASON: Became Rams’ all-time leader in receiving yards (10,461), passing
current receivers coach Henry Ellard (9,761), making him one of only 15 players
in NFL history who lead their franchise in the three major receiving
records—receiving yards, receptions (688) and receiving touchdowns (68)…led or
tied for team-lead in receptions in five games and three games for receiving
yards. • Made nine receptions for 129 yards, becoming the 18th player in
NFL history to gain over 10,000 career receiving yards against Green Bay
10/19. • 16-yard reception at Chicago 11/16 moved him into 20th place on
the NFL’s all-time receptions list. • 20-yard reception vs. Minnesota
11/30 moved him past Harold Jackson (10,372) for 15th place on the NFL’s
all-time receiving yards list. • Streak of 63 consecutive games with
reception snapped at Detroit 12/28. • Made seven receptions for 116
yards in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game vs. Carolina 1/10/04, making him the
only Rams player to have four career 100-yard postseason performances, breaking

SEASON: Became Rams’ all-time leader in receptions while posting fourth
consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season…led team with seven touchdown
receptions…led team in receptions five times and in receiving yards four
times. • Had best game of season on 30th birthday vs. San Diego 11/10,
catching game-high 10 passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns, helping the
Rams’ rally from a 24-14 fourth-quarter deficit with under five minutes to play
in the 28-24 win…first touchdown catch moved him past Hall of Fame RB Eric
Dickerson (58) and into second place all-time in team history. • Became
franchise leader in receptions at Washington 11/24…on second reception of Rams’
opening possession, a 30-yard catch-and-run gave him 594 catches, surpassing
mark of 593 set by receivers coach Henry Ellard. • Became first player
in team history with 600 receptions in team history at Philadelphia 12/1 on a
28-yard catch in second quarter.
2001 SEASON: Continued ascent up the Rams’ career receiving charts while
becoming third receiver in team history to earn three consecutive Pro Bowl
invitations (Elroy Hirsch 1951-53, Jim Phillips 1960-62)…voted offensive
captain…became franchise career leader in 100-yard receiving games (29),
1,000-yard seasons (5), and receiving touchdowns (56). • Became just
second player in team history to post 500 career receptions vs. New York Giants
10/14. • Became Rams’ all-time leader in touchdown receptions with he
caught five passes for 86 yards and season-high three touchdowns in Monday Night
Game at New Orleans 12/17. • Had top game in NFC Championship contest
against Philadelphia 1/27, catching eight passes for 84 yards and one
touchdown. • Caught five passes for 56 yards against New England in
Super Bowl XXXVI 2/3/02.
2000
SEASON: Became first Rams receiver to earn back-to-back Pro Bowl invitations
since Henry Ellard accomplished the feat following 1988-1989 seasons…led or tied
for team lead in receptions six times and led team in receiving yards six
times…posted four 100-yard receiving games. • Caught season-high nine
passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns vs. San Diego 10/1. • Posted
team-record-tying third 100-yard receiving game in the playoffs with team-high
127 yards on team-high tying seven receptions with one touchdown in NFC Wildcard
Game at New Orleans 12/30.
1999
SEASON: Earned second Pro Bowl invitation following the third 1,000-yard
receiving season of career…led team with 12 touchdowns…led team in receptions
eight times and four times in receiving yards…led Rams in receiving yards in
playoffs, with 317 yards on 13 catches with team-high two
touchdowns. • Posted two 100-yard receiving games in the playoffs, vs.
Minnesota and Tennessee in Super Bowl XXXIV. • Scored Rams’ first
touchdown of postseason on first offensive play vs. Minnesota, in NFC Divisional
Playoff Game, 77-yard reception from QB Kurt Warner, the second-longest pass
reception in team playoff history. • Game-winning 73-yard touchdown pass
in Super Bowl XXXIV against Tennessee capped six-reception, 162-yard game.
1998
SEASON: Missed eight games with hamstring injury before being placed on
reserve/injured list 12/7. • Opened season with 10-reception, 131-yard
effort vs. New Orleans 9/6. • Followed with 11 receptions for 192 yards
and one touchdown against Minnesota 9/13…reception total tied for highest-single
game total in the NFC in 1998 and tied the second-highest total of his career,
while receiving yards total was fourth-highest of career.
1997
SEASON: Led team with five touchdown receptions despite missing almost all of
first five games with hamstring injury…snapped streak of 43 consecutive games
with at least one reception in season opener at Denver after leaving game in
first quarter with hamstring injury. • Had best receiving performance by
any NFL receiver in 1997, exploding for career-high 233 yards on 10 receptions
and two touchdowns at Atlanta 11/2…yards were fourth most ever by Ram…only
player in Rams’ history and seventh NFL receiver to record three games with at
least 200 yards.
1996
SEASON: Led team with 84 receptions and led NFL with 1,338 yards…became first
Rams receiver since Henry Ellard in 1990 and 1991 to post back-to-back
1,000-yard receiving seasons…first Ram to lead league in receiving yards since
Ellard in 1998…joined Tom Fears (1949-50) and Ellard (1989-91) as only receivers
in Rams’ history to post consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons (WR Torry Holt
became fourth 2000-2001). • Capped season with seven receptions for 104

SEASON: In first year as starter, enjoyed best ever season by a Rams’ receiver
and second greatest receiving season in NFL history with 1,781 yards on 119
catches…trailed only San Francisco’s Jerry Rice (1,848) after breaking former
Houston Oiler Charley Hennigan’s 34-year-old record of 1,746 set in 1961…119
catches ranked fifth on the NFL’s all-time single-season reception
list…shattered four Rams’ records, including most receiving yards (1,781), most
receptions (119), most consecutive 100-yard receiving games (6) and most
100-yard games (9)…tied for second (Harold Jackson, 1973) for most touchdown
receptions by a Ram in one season (13) and for second (Willie Anderson, 1989)
for most receptions in one game (15)…first player in NFL history to record three
consecutive games with at least 170 receiving yards (181, 191, 173)…ended season

SEASON: Earned 1994 Carroll Rosenbloom Award, given to team rookie of the
year…voted Rams rookie of the year by Orange County Sports Association and
Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association…missed last four games after
spraining right knee at San Diego 11/27…placed on reserved/injured list
12/9. • First NFL reception was 34-yard touchdown from QB Chris Miller
at Atlanta 9/11.

and made frequent visits to school and annually celebrated his birthday with the

the Missouri Athletic Club at the annual Jack Buck Sports Award
