In the process of winning the award, Zuerlein hit a number of notable milestones that already have his name in lofty places in franchise and league record books.
- The 60-yard make is the longest field goal in league history by a rookie and just the 10th make from that distance in NFL history.
- The 58-yard make gave Zuerlein the franchise record for longest field goal in team history, a record he broke about a half hour later when he hit from 60 yards out.
- Zuerlein became the first player in league history to hit from 50-plus yards and 60-plus yards on two kicks in the same game.
- In converting all four of his field goal attempts, Zuerlein is now 12-of-12 on the season, which is a franchise record for a rookie kicker.
Beyond just his work last week, Zuerlein has scored 41 points, good for fourth in the league among kickers. The 56-yard field goal he kicked against Chicago in Week 3 is a Soldier Field record.
