The St. Louis Rams are teaming up with lululemon athletica, a popular yoga-inspired athletic apparel company based out of Vancouver, B.C. to bring yoga, sport and goal setting to St. Louis.
The Rams will kick off the relationship with an event blending yoga and football at Rams Park on Saturday, April 19 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. featuring instruction from local lululemon ambassador Julie Funke of St. Louis’ Original Spinning and Rams punter Johnny Hekker. The event is free to attend and open to men and women of all ages.
In addition, lululemon will provide the Rams staff with a health and wellness yoga program, as well as assistance with various PLAY 60 events throughout the year.
“We saw an opportunity with lululemon athletica to unite our passion for football, yoga and personal fitness to bring the St. Louis community together through a truly innovative partnership,” Rams vice president of marketing and brand strategy Brian Killingsworth said. “Both the Rams and lululemon athletica share the belief that we have a responsibility to play a part in creating a healthy community within St. Louis and beyond.”
“Sharing our culture through goal setting with the Rams staff has been an incredible experience and we couldn’t be more excited to now partner with Johnny Hekker in showing how yoga has an impact on athletic performance,” lululemon athletica community relations manager Nina Gardner said.
