Robert Quinn to Host Pros STRIKE for Africa at Moolah Lanes

Posted Nov 1, 2013

Defensive end Robert Quinn is known throughout the league for striking down quarterbacks, recording 10 sacks in the first half of the season. Now he’s looking to make a different kind a strike, for a good cause.

On Friday, November 22, Quinn will gather teammates and fans alike for Pros STRIKE for Africa. The event will raise funds and awareness for critically needed water, health, educational and other community needs for children and families in sub-Saharan Africa.

4500 children die each day from a lack of clean drinking water and improper sanitation according to the World Health Organization. And those who survive do so in spite of rudimentary healthcare. While the most fortunate attend school, they must often walk ten or more miles to do. Though hard to imagine in the United States, these are daily challenges throughout sub-Saharan Africa.

Robert was overwhelmed by these statistics and decided to tackle the issue himself.

“As a parent, it is hard to envision any child unable to receive basic health care, access clean water or attend school. My wife, Christina, and I are honored to help host a great night with friends, fans, and my Rams teammates in support of WorldServe International.”

Pros STRIKE for Africa will be held on Friday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Moolah Lanes (3821 Lindell Blvd  St Louis, MO 63108). Required reservations and donations can be made online at www.prosSTRIKEforAfrica.eventbrite.com.  A variety of adult tickets, sponsorship and donation opportunities are available, beginning at $100 per person.

The evening includes delicious hors d’oeuvres, themed cocktails, and a live and silent auction.  Quinn and other Rams players will be present, and for the evening’s informal bowling competition, bowling foursomes will be able to bid on a Rams player to add to their team – thus increasing their chances for prizes (including game tickets, autographed merchandise, on field passes, jewelry, and more).
