Rams Help Kick Off High School Season

Posted Aug 24, 2012

As the Rams preseason reaches its midpoint, high school football season is set to begin this weekend. Tonight’s 7 p.m. matchup between Ft. Zumwalt West High School and Christian Brothers College High School marks the first St. Louis Rams National Guard High School Game of the Week presented by Prairie Farms this season.

New this year, fans can vote on each week’s game on stlouisrams.com between the Saturday and Tuesday leading up to the contest. The results will be announced each Wednesday via the Rams Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Each game will feature a live one-hour pre-game radio show on the High School Sports Caravan 590 KFNS. The game will also be broadcast live on 590 KFNS and the winning school’s head coach will be named the St. Louis Rams High School Coach of the Week presented by Charter. In addition, the winning program will receive a $2,000 grant from the Rams and Charter.

The Rams are once again partnering with the National Football Foundation – St. Louis/Tom Lombardo Chapter in selecting the St. Louis Rams Golden Horn Elite-25 football team following the season.

To further demonstrate the organization’s commitment to youth football, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher recently mailed letters to over 400 local high school football teams wishing them good luck in the upcoming season.  Rams representatives will also be present at each game with giveaways, raffles and prizes.
