In anticipation of the NFL schedule release, the Rams became the first NFL team to offer a $100,000 prize for accurately predicting their 2014 schedule last week. Eligible entries included predicting the date, opponent and location of each of the Rams’ 16 games, as well as selecting the correct bye week.
Entries for the contest concluded Monday afternoon at 4:59 pm.
The contest drew tremendous fan participation, as the Rams fielded tens of thousands of entries. The consensus schedule produced by fans has the Rams opening at home on September 7 against the division rival Arizona Cardinals.
According to fan estimations, the Rams will play their first road game in Kansas City on September 28, and will host the reigning Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks in Week 6, a week prior to the team’s bye week. The AFC champion Denver Broncos will also be making their first visit to St. Louis since 2006, and fans predicted that meeting will take place in Week 12, the first of three predicted home games to close out the 2014 home slate. Following a trend of recent seasons, Rams fans picked the team to end the season in Seattle, which would be the fourth time in the last five seasons the Rams have concluded their schedule on the road against the Seahawks.
In the event of a tie between multiple perfect selections, fans will compete in what promises to be an exciting trivia contest to determine the winner of the challenge.
The NFL’s full season schedule is set to be released Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. CDT.
