Jason Brown and Chris Massey help local children celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday

Some might have baked a cake. Others might have donned a red and white striped hat. Jason Brown and Chris Massey chose to recognize Dr. Seuss’ birthday by helping local children celebrate Read Across America day.

Each year on March 2 thousands of schools, libraries and community centers participate in the National Education Association’s Read Across America celebration by bringing together kids, teens and books. This year, Rams center Jason Brown stopped by Southview School in the Special School District to read Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? Rams cheerleaders Alicia and Jayne were on hand to ensure Brown didn’t miss any words. Brown also made an appearance at Chesterfield Elementary to read The Cat in the Hat Comes Back.

As part of The Magic House Read Across America Weekend Celebration, Rams long snapper Chris Massey served as a celebrity reader, narrating Fox and Socks. Children in attendance also had the opportunity to play games, make crafts and meet the Cat in the Hat.
