Rams Select CB Tye Hill in 1st Round

Unlike many cornerbacks, Hill is tough and willing to come up in run support and tackle. Despite being a small cornerback, he has the jumping ability, hand use and ball skills to get up high to break up passes in tight man-to-man consistently.

Rams Select TE Joe Klopfenstein in 2nd Round

Klopfenstein has been a productive and versatile tight end at Colorado with many of the tools to succeed in the NFL. He no doubt has the height, hands and body control to catch every pass thrown his way and can adjust to make tough catches consistently.

Draft Rewind
Class of 1997 Class of 1998

Excitement surrounding the Rams' first draft in St. Louis was abound, and the organization did not disappoint their new city's fans, as the Rams selected 10 players, the first 10 St. Louis Rams.

The former Cornhusker had an illustrious, albeit short, career with the Rams, highlighted by his noteworthy rookie year.  Phillips became the first Rams’ rookie RB to open a season as the feature back since Eric Dickerson.

Rams Select OLB Jon Alston in 3rd Round
Alston is a good athlete with the quick feet, agility and flexibility to make plays consistently out in space. When he has a clear path to the ball, he has good playing speed chasing plays down and making tackles in pursuit. [more]
Rams Select TE Dominique Byrd in 3rd Round
He is a smooth and fluid athlete who consistently plays to the limits of his ability. He runs good routes and sells fakes well to turn a defender a little bit in the wrong direction. He has very good hands and does a very good job of reaching out and catching the ball away from his body. [more]
Rams Select DE Victor Adeyanju in 4th Round
Adeyanju has all the athletic tools to be very productive in all areas. He has the height, long arms and frame that are ideal for a defensive end. He has the natural flexibility to bend his knees, sink his hips and take on run blocks with leverage. [more]
Rams Select WR Marques Hagans in 5th Round
Two-year starter at quarterback...played a multitude of roles throughout his career in addition to quarterback … spent two seasons at wide receiver and punt returner, while also lining up at tailback periodically … played in all 51 games in his career, tying a school record for most games played. [more]
Rams Select ILB Tim McGarigle in 7th Round
McGarigle's instincts enable him to read and react to the play quicker than you expect and his all-out effort on every snap helps him to find a way to make plays. He is consistently around the ball on inside runs. He is a tough and aggressive linebacker who consistently fills the hole aggressively and takes on the lead blocker strong at the point of attack. [more]
Rams Select OG Mark Setterstrom in 7th Round
Setterstrom is a smart, tough offensive lineman who consistently gets off the ball quickly, stays after his block and eliminates his man from the play consistently. [more]
Rams Select OG Tony Palmer in 7th Round
The stout left offensive guard has been a major reason that the Tigers have had so much offensive success the last three seasons. He is literally a pancake-making factory, averaging 8.39 knockdown blocks per game during his last two years. [more]
Hawk, Carpenter Continue Tradition
Ohio State has become a breeding ground for talented NFL players, especially at linebacker. This year is no different as A.J. Hawk and Bobby Carpenter form one of the draft's most dangerous duos. [more]
Ngata Making Parents Proud
In the span of about three years, Oregon defensive tackle Haloti Ngata lost both of his parents. Now, he is using their loss as motivation to become the best player and person he can be. [more]
Dynamic DE Duo Ready to Dominate
North Carolina State once gave the Rams one of their greatest players in receiver Torry Holt. Now, the Wolfpack is sending a pair of outstanding defensive ends to the NFL in Mario Williams and Manny Lawson. [more]
