-Enters his first season as head coach Scott Linehan’s quarterbacks coach following an eight-year NFL coaching career.

-Prior to joining the Rams, spent one season as quarterbacks coach for the Miami Dolphins, tutoring new Rams quarterback Trent Green.

-Spent one season as the offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears (2004) between stints coaching the quarterbacks for the Kansas City Chiefs (2005-2006, 2001-2003).

-Spent seven seasons as a head coach at the college level, five with Rutgers (1996-2000) and two with San Jose State (1990-1991).

-Also spent time as an offensive coordinator at the college level with Stanford (associate head coach/offensive coordinator, 1992-1994), California (1987-1989), San Jose State (1984-1986) and Utah State (1981-1983).

-Also spent time coaching Utah State’s defensive backs/special teams (1976-1977) and quarterbacks/wide receivers (1978-1980).

-Spent six seasons at Mt. Hood Community College as the passing game, secondary and special teams coach (1970-1975).

-Broke into coaching with his alma mater, Oregon, as a graduate assistant (1968-1969).

-Played quarterback for the Oregon Ducks for four seasons (1964-1967).

-A native of San Mateo, California, he and his wife Susan have three children, daughter Jennifer, and sons, Garrett and Daniel Patrick.
