-Prior to starting his coaching career, served as a marketing and community relations intern for the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer.

-Received a degree in communications from the University of Missouri-Kansas City after transferring from Southern Methodist University where he was a wide receiver and defensive back for the Mustangs.

-A native of Walnut Creek, California, he and his wife, Gina, reside in St. Louis, Mo.
