-         Returns to the Rams as offensive coordinator after two seasons as the associate head coach-offense in Washington (2006-2007).

-         Was associate head coach/wide receivers with the Rams from 1999-2000, a member of the Super Bowl XXXIV Championship team.

-         Prior to joining the Redskins in 2006, spent five seasons as the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs (2001-2005).

-         Prior to his stint with the Rams, spent 10 seasons the assistant head coach/wide receivers for the Kansas City Chiefs (1989-1998).

-         First NFL coaching job was with the San Diego Chargers as wide receivers coach (1983-1986) and was promoted to head coach from 1986-1988.

-         Broke into coaching as a graduate assistant with the University of Southern California (1970-1971).

-         Had several collegiate coaching stops before entering the NFL including coaching wide receivers at the University of Missouri (1972) and offensive coordinator positions with the University of California (1976-1981) and the University of Tennessee (1982).

-         A native of London, England , he became one of only four foreign-born head coaches in the NFL when he was named head coach of the San Diego Chargers in 1986.

-         An accomplished distance runner, he has competed in several marathons including the 100th running of the Boston Marathon in 1996.

-      He and his wife, Karen, have three children, sons Robert and Joseph, and daughter Korrin.
