The Rams added some
depth to the receiver position Tuesday, agreeing to terms on a one-year contract
with veteran wideout Reche Caldwell.
The former second-round choice of the San Diego Chargers
comes to the Rams from
Washington
, where he played
eight games last season under then Redskins and current Rams offensive
coordinator Al Saunders.
Caldwell
had 15 catches for
141 yards in 2007. He has spent six seasons in the league, his best coming with
New England in 2006 when he had 61 grabs for 760 yards
and four touchdowns.
On his arrival,
Caldwell
should immediately be in
the mix as a potential slot receiver behind starters Torry Holt and Drew
Bennett.
