Running Back 1. Reggie Bush, USC – There hasn’t been a player as electrifying as Bush to come along in some time. He has it all: speed, strength, elusiveness, you name it. It would be a major upset if he isn’t the first player taken. 2. LenDale White, USC – White has been in somewhat of a slide because of poor workouts at his pro day as well as the lack of a recorded 40 time. Still, White is the best pure power back in the draft. He probably cost himself some draft spots, but remains one of the top backs on the board. 3. DeAngelo Williams, Memphis – Williams is a bit undersized, but might be the next best thing to Bush as far as running backs. He’s fast and elusive and has excellent hands out of the back field. Durability might be a question because of his size, but Williams will make some team in the first round very happy. 4. Laurence Maroney, Minnesota – Maroney is a talented slashing type back with the ability to run between the tackles or bust loose on the outside. Maroney brings comparisons to Steven Jackson and should also be a first rounder. 5. Joseph Addai, LSU – Addai split time as the starter in college so his stock was somewhat lower than it should have been entering the pre-draft workouts. Is somewhat small, but has power for a smaller back. Great speed and versatility should bump him into the early part of the second round and, perhaps, the late first. Sleeper: Jerome Harrison, Washington State – Harrison is tiny, but was super productive for the Cougars. He has great speed and can be used in a number of ways. Has a Darren Sproles type ability to work as a change of pace back and should land somewhere in the first day. ---
