Quarterback 1. Matt Leinart, USC – All Leinart did at USC is win. Games, the Heisman, you name it, Leinart won it. He is accurate, athletic and intelligent. As sure a thing as you can get by first-round quarterback standards. 2. Vince Young, Texas – Young is a rare athlete with the ability to take over a game in a number of ways. His legs are as dangerous as his arm. If not for some questions about his intelligence and strange delivery, he’d be on a level with Leinart. 3. Jay Cutler, Vanderbilt – Cutler is a talented athlete with all of the physical tools to be successful in the NFL. Doesn’t have the pedigree of Leinart or Young, but has the attitude to be a top quarterback. 4. Brodie Croyle, Alabama – Not on the level of the top three and probably won’t be a first-round pick, but he could be a nice pickup later in the first day. A smart, heady type who knows how to win. 5. Charlie Whitehurst, Clemson – Whitehurst is an excellent athlete, but not the best decision maker. Tends to make mistakes in important situations. Still has tremendous upside and could be a nice grab in round two or three. Sleeper: Darrell Hackney, UAB: A little undersized height wise, but he has a powerful arm and is strong. His accuracy comes and goes, but he is the type of project that could be worth developing long term. ---
