On being drafted by the Rams: “It feels great to be a Ram!” On knowing if he was going to be drafted by the Rams: “No. My brother was sitting there and said, ‘St. Louis is going to take you.’ I told him not to say that because he was going to jinx me. I thought that they were not going to pick me, but pick somebody else. St. Louis came up and I stood up against the wall and put my phone down. Next thing I know my phone was ringing. I said, ‘It’s them! It’s them! It’s them!’” On Bill Kollar: “He is great. I like him a lot. When I first met him I thought that he was kind of rough, but we sat down and we talked and got a feel for one another and that was really cool. My roommate knew Coach Kollar and he said that if I go to the league, the he was the best person that I would want to work with. His mom went to high school with Coach Kollar.” On moving from quarterback to defensive end: “That was crazy. I thought my days of football were done. When they told me that I was going to play defensive end, my jaw hit the floor. I was shocked. I didn’t think that I was going to be able to make the transition. First I was a quarterback and now I have to put my hands in the dirt.” On being ineligible hurting his draft position: “It probably did, but it’s about what God has set for me. This is the path that he wanted me to walk, so it is the path that I walk. I’m not worried about that. I am a Ram right now, so all that stuff is just o.k. I am a Ram now.” On how many NFL teams worked him out: “Individually, about four. Then I had the Pro Day, and everybody was there. On having a big party: “No, just my family and a couple of friends from the area that I grew up with. It’s a big thing for my family. When I went to college, it was a big thing, because nobody really made it out of the area I’m from (Punta Gorde, Fla.). ---
