1st round, 1st overall – Orlando Pace, T, Ohio State
Pace has been a stalwart on the Rams’ offensive line since his insertion into the starting lineup five games into his rookie season.  Considered one of the most dominating offensive linemen in NFL history, Pace has started 99 of the 103 games he has played, including a string of 75 consecutive starts that was halted in September of 2002 due to a calf injury that forced him to miss six full games and portions of two other games. Voted to his fifth consecutive Pro Bowl in 2003, Pace became the first Ram to earn five straight Pro Bowl invitations since Hall of Famer Jackie Slater earned six consecutive invitations from 1985-90.

At Ohio State, he became the first player to win consecutive Lombardi Awards (1995 and ’96), given to the outstanding collegiate lineman.  Pace has blocked for three of the last four NFL Most Valuable Players, as QB Kurt Warner won the award in 1999 and 2001 and RB Marshall Faulk won the honor in 2000.

2nd round, 40th overall – Dexter McCleon, CB, Clemson
McCleon started 57 of the 90 games he played in for the Rams before signing with their cross-state rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, prior to the 2003 season.  He also started seven postseason contests while in St. Louis, including Super Bowls XXXIV and XXXVI.  In his career he made 259 tackles (208 solo) with 4.5 sacks, 20 interceptions, 67 passes defensed, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries.

Although he made 79 tackles (57 solo) in 2001, McCleon’s best season came in 2000 as he finished second in the NFL with eight interceptions.  During the ’00 season, he also racked up 61 tackles  (52 solo) with two sacks and 21 passes defensed.  The former first-team all-ACC selection had his most tackles in a game against Chicago 12/26/99 where he tallied 11 tackles (10 solo), and his most interceptions in a game at Tampa Bay 12/18/00 where he intercepted two passes off Buccaneers’ QB Shaun King.

4th round, 121st overall – Ryan Tucker, OL, TCU
Tucker played in 59 games, starting 31, for the Rams during his five-year career in St. Louis.  After the 2001 season, Tucker signed with the Cleveland Browns as a free agent.  “Tuck” started 31 of last 32 regular season games at right tackle after helping block for Rams’ offense become first unit in NFL history to score 500 points in three consecutive seasons (1999-2001).

5th round, 158th overall – Taje Allen, CB, Texas
Allen spent four seasons with the Rams, starting four of the 57 games he played.  Allen totaled 62 tackles (53 solo) with 13 passes defensed, two interceptions, and 0.5 sack.  His best season was 1999 where he made 39 tackles (34 solo) with two interceptions, eight passes defensed, and 0.5 sack.  Made first career interception against San Francisco 10/10/99 on a pass by 49ers QB Jeff Garcia, returning it 40 yards.  Allen signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as a free agent after the 2000 season.

6th round, 179th overall – Muadianvita Kazadi, LB, Tulsa
Kazadi played in 12 games in the 1997 season for St. Louis, tying for third on the team with 13 special teams tackles.  Made career-high four special teams tackles at Washington 11/30.

7th round, 215th overall – Cedric White, DE, North Carolina A&T
White spent 1997 training camp with the Rams before being released at the end of camp.  He spent some time, however, on the Rams’ practice squad during the 1997 season.
