St. Louis Rams wide receiver Dane Looker completed his NFL Europe season in style on Saturday. Looker was named MVP of World Bowl X after his two-touchdown display powered the Berlin Thunder to a history-making second consecutive World Bowl crown. Looker caught 11 passes for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns as Berlin defeated the Rhein Fire 26-20 in front of 53,109 fans at Düsseldorf's Rheinstadion. Despite posting such impressive figures, Looker didn't even think about winning the player of the game award until after the final gun as Berlin battled to hold off Rhein's furious late rally. "I was so worried about getting the victory and getting a World Bowl ring that I didn't have time to worry about the MVP award," Looker revealed. "I was the benefactor of our great offense but I am very honored to have received this award." Looker's first touchdown came on a 41-yard reception that gave Berlin a 10-0 lead. His second was an impressive 15-yard catch from Todd Husak in the corner of the end zone that put Berlin up 20-0 at the half. "Our team came out tonight and played inspired football," Looker said. "We were great at executing on offense and our defense had its best game of the season and was incredible. I have to give the credit to our entire football team. The fans in the Rheinstadion were great tonight - they showed what a truly great league this is." Voting for the World Bowl MVP award was made up of WorldBowl.com's online ballot and members of the media at the game in Germany. Looker was NFL Europe’s top receiver this season. He was named to the all-NFL Europe team last week and led all NFLEL receivers in receptions (54) and receiving yards (661). Looker ranked tied for seventh in NFL Europe with five touchdowns and is sixth in the league in total yards from scrimmage (661). His 54 receptions established a Berlin franchise record, shattering the previous mark of 41 catches by WR Damon Dunn in 2000. Berlin finished with the top offense in NFL Europe, averaging 370.4 yards per game. Looker's 12 receptions in Week 7 is a league high for the season and his 143 receiving yards in Week 5 are a league high for the campaign. Looker was the only player in NFL Europe with three 100-yard receiving games, and won NFL Europe Player of the Week honors after a five reception, 101-yard, two-touchdown performance in Week 6. ---
