Brendan Daly came to the Rams from the Minnesota Vikings where he was a defensive assistant/defensive line coach from 2006-08.

During Daly’s tenure in Minnesota, the Vikings became the first team in NFL history to lead the league in rushing defense in three consecutive seasons (2006-08) and held opponents to less than 75 yards rushing per game in each of those seasons. Daly helped three Vikings defensive linemen to seven Pro Bowl selections in the last three seasons (Jared Allen, 2008; Kevin Williams, 2006-08; Pat Williams, 2006-08).

Prior to working with the Vikings, Daly coached defensive linemen at Villanova University in 2005, his second stint at the school after coaching tight ends for the Wildcats in 1999. Under Daly’s supervision, defensive end Darrell Adams earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors in 2005.

Daly coached tight ends at Illinois State University in 2004. The Redbirds led the Gateway Conference in passing offense and posted 480 yards in a non-conference game versus Minnesota that season.

Daly spent three seasons at Oklahoma State from 2001-03, beginning his time there as a graduate assistant working on offense and defense (2001-02) and then served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Cowboys in 2003. While at Oklahoma State, Daly served on a staff that brought the Cowboys from a 4-7 record in 2001 to bowl berths in 2001 and 2002.

Daly, a tight end at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, from 1993-96, made his coaching debut in 1997 at Ridgeway High School in New Port Richey, Fla., before returning to his alma mater to coach in 1998. In 1999, Daly coached tight ends at Villanova before serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Maryland in 2000.

Daly, a Springfield, Ill., native, holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Drake and is married to Keely. The couple has a son, Liam, and a daughter, Ciara.
