The
St. Louis Rams and St. Louis Rams Foundation will award $20,000 in grants to
recognize outstanding volunteer service through their Georgia Frontiere
Community Quarterback Awards Program. Since the
program’s inception in 2000, the Rams have donated over $150,000 to community
groups through this initiative.
The
Georgia Frontiere Community Quarterback Award honors individuals who exemplify
leadership, dedication, and a commitment to improving the community in which
they live. Non-profit
organizations are encouraged to nominate individuals, age 13 or over, who serve
local charities in a volunteer capacity only and receive no monetary
compensation for their efforts.
Individuals are welcome to nominate themselves.
A
committee comprised of local community leaders will review the nominations and
select 10 finalists. From the
finalist field, the 2008 Rams Community Quarterback winner will be named and one
runner-up selected. The winner’s charity will receive $7,500 and the charity of
the runner-up will receive $2,500. Each of the eight finalists will be
awarded a $1,250 Rams Foundation grant for their charitable organizations. All winners will be recognized at a
special luncheon at Russell
Training
Center and will be guests of the Rams on the field at the St.
Louis Rams versus Dallas Cowboys game, October 19 at the Edward Jones
Dome.
The program is part of the national NFL Community
Quarterback Award program that honors volunteers in all 32 NFL markets.
