On Monday, June 16, 85 patients from the Costas Center at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and their siblings were invited for a day at the beautiful Raging Rivers Waterpark in Grafton, Illinois, with Grant Wistrom as part of the Circle of Friends-St. Louis program with the Grant Wistrom Foundation.
The kids met Wistrom at the Ronald McDonald House to begin their day that included the attractions at Raging Rivers, meeting Rams players Brian Young, Jeremy Staat and Adam Timmerman, and lunch. Raging Rivers donated admission and lunch for the event and Vandalia Buslines donated a portion of the cost. The Grant Wistrom Foundation was created in August of 2002 to provide fun and recreational activities for children, especially those with cancer, in the St. Louis area and Southwest Missouri. Current Foundation programs include a Circle of Friends ski trip, one-day special events in St. Louis, a ticket program with the Rams and support of other children’s charities.
